Alabama's Premier Bass Lake
Lake Guntersville is widely recognized as one of the premier bass fishing destinations in the United States. With over 69,000 acres of fishable water, abundant aquatic vegetation, and healthy bass populations, it's a lake that consistently produces unforgettable days on the water. Whether you're chasing a personal best or looking to sharpen your skills, Guntersville offers something for every angler.
Lake Guntersville has earned a national reputation for producing giant largemouth bass. Every year, anglers catch fish weighing 8 pounds or more, making it one of the best destinations in the country for landing the bass of a lifetime.
Few lakes offer the variety of grass fishing found on Guntersville. Expansive hydrilla, milfoil, eelgrass, and other vegetation create ideal habitat for bass throughout the year. Whether you're throwing frogs over matted grass, ripping lipless crankbaits through submerged vegetation, or flipping heavy cover, Guntersville delivers exciting shallow-water action.
When bass move offshore, Guntersville becomes one of the finest ledge and deep grass fisheries in the country. River ledges, shell beds, creek channels, and offshore grass lines provide incredible opportunities to target schools of quality bass using today's electronics and proven offshore techniques.
Every season offers a unique and exciting fishing experience. Spring brings trophy pre-spawn and spawning bass, summer is famous for offshore ledge fishing, fall features aggressive feeding fish chasing shad, and winter provides excellent opportunities to catch some of the biggest bass of the year.
Lake Guntersville regularly hosts some of the biggest tournaments in professional bass fishing, including events from organizations like Bassmaster and Major League Fishing. Its ability to consistently produce heavyweight limits has made it a bucket-list destination for tournament anglers from across the country.
Beyond the incredible fishing, Lake Guntersville offers breathtaking scenery. Miles of shoreline, peaceful coves, mountain views, abundant wildlife, and spectacular sunrises create an unforgettable outdoor experience. Every trip is about more than catching fish — it's about enjoying one of Alabama's most beautiful natural treasures.

Stay up to date with what's biting on Lake Guntersville
Monday morning you could feel it in the air again! Fall is here and the extreme heat has broken. Fish are starting their fall transition. The key is finding bait. You can great days in the fall if you stay with the bait throughout the day. On Lake Guntersville we all know what the Fall means = they're heading into the mats!
All week stayed the same patterns and areas until Friday. Full moon and slightly cooled temps in the evenings moved many of the schools I had located. Relocated majority of the schools and they were fired up!
The schools of bass are setup and predictable now with the constant current. From morning grass bites to afternoon schooling, we're getting after them!

Captain Coop put us on fish all day long! We caught over 20 bass and my son landed his personal best — a 6.5 lb largemouth. Absolutely incredible experience. We'll be back every year!

We had never fished before and Coop made us feel completely comfortable. By the end of the day we were catching fish on our own. Best date day we've ever had!

As a tournament angler, I was skeptical about hiring a guide. But Coop showed me techniques and spots I never would have found on my own. Worth every penny.

Took the whole family out — kids ages 8 and 11. Coop was so patient and kept the kids engaged the entire trip. They're already asking when we can go back!
